Rev. Mother Mary Frances took the initiative to expand the CCR mission to Kenya, Africa. In the initial stages Bishop Cornelius of Ngong Diocese gave the Sisters a house in the Bishop's Residence as he wanted them to manage his school at St. Joseph's Ngong Catholic Academy and St. Aloysius Catholic Dispensary, Olkeri.On April 10, 2008
We began our Apostolate on April 10, 2008 in Ngong- Kenya, with Sr. Tressie D'cruz as Superior. The community grew in numbers and in 2011, Sr. Jasinda Peter became Superior. Sr. Tressie D'Cruz was appointed the Principal of Mount Carmel Convent Girls Sec. School, Sr. Juliet D'Cruz, Administrator of St. Joseph's Catholic Academy and Sr. Marita Jane, Deputy and Bursar for the school. Many Sisters rendered service in the community over the years.On July 3, 2014
The groundbreaking for the Convent was done by Rev. Fr. John Kariuki. The construction was completed with the help of Fr. Robert Vjus from USA, funds from foreign convents and the Generalate and assistance from Mount Carmel Convent Girls Sec. School. On November 16, 2015, our Foundress day, the Convent was blessed by Rt. Rev. Bishop John Oballa Owaa, Diocese of Ngong and inaugurated by Rev. Mother Mary Elma.At present
The community consists of Sr. Jasinda Peter, Animator, Sr. Madeline, Sr. Daphne and Sr. Karmala Appu. We place on record our gratitude to our Superior General, the General team and all the sisters for the support and encouragement we receive each day.
Sr. Tressie was appointed Principal of Mount Carmel Convent Girls Sec. School in 2011 and Sr. Madeline was given charge of St. Joseph's Ngong Catholic Academy. Sr. Karmala Appu took charge in January 2016 as Principal of the school, and the First Deputy was Sr. Daphne. Currently the school has 220 students (total capacity-320) with 27 teaching and non teaching staff.
Sr. Tressie D'Cruz was appointed as Formator of the African aspirants to the CCR. In August 2016, Bishop John Oballa Owaa, of Ngong Diocese offered a house in Narok, for formation.
