Masii

Carmelite Sisters

The Masii Convent came into existence on November 9, 2008 with the approval of Rt. Rev. Bishop Martin Musonda Kivuva the Bishop of the Diocese of Machakos.

Sr. Nancy Anthony and Sr. Teresa Joyce were the pioneers. November 10, 2008 was a blessed day as we were gifted with the presence of Our Lord in our small chapel.

His Lordship wanted a Nurse for the dispensary built by the parishioners in the parish compound and a teacher for St. Stephen's Secondary School in Masii. Thus began our humble apostolate in the Diocese of Machakos.

In April 2009, the General Councillors Sr. Conradine and Sr. Margaret paid a visit to the Sisters. The Masii community was honoured by a visit from the Superior General, Rev. Mother Mary Frances in December 2009.

T he small community of Sisters worked tirelessly in educating and ministering to the children of the locality. They also helped in the dispensary, conducted prayer services in the church, prepared the children for Baptism and even went for house visits. Unfortunately the Nursery which belonged to the Parish was closed down due to less number of pupils.
T he Sisters continue to impart formal and religious education to the local children while lending a helping hand to the poor and needy in the Diocese of Machakos.
